Alert: Tell Legislators to Oppose Healthcare and Nursing Education Budget Cuts

While the Governor and the legislature are working to reduce the state's $3.2 billion deficit, we need your help in urging your legislator to vote NO to any proposed cuts to health care and nursing education programs.

While NYSNA recognizes New York is facing deteriorating economic conditions and declining revenues, we do not believe patient safety or nursing education should be sacrificed to close the budget gap. Nothing is more critical to the health and well-being of New Yorkers than having access to safe, quality health care delivered by highly qualified, competent RNs.

Please contact your State Senator and Assemblymember and ask that they strongly oppose and reject Governor Paterson’s proposed health care cuts and cuts to nursing education programs at SUNY and CUNY.
