NYSNA Nurses and 1199 SEIU Healthcare workers from Fresenius Medical Care are continuing negotiations with management towards a new contract. NYSNA and 1199 SEIU Healthcare have been calling for a fair contract that protects both workers and patients, and negotiating in good faith for more than two years. On April 19, nurses and healthcare workers held informational pickets throughout New York City and Westchester county, as well as holding a vote to authorize a strike if necessary. The unanimous 100% “YES” vote is a clear call to Fresenius to protect both the employees and the patients.
We will be calling on all NYSNA and 1199 members for solidarity… please be ready to support your Fresenius colleagues in June if a strike is called. Currently, workers are speaking directly to the board of Fresenius in Germany, and we have created a new video that gives direct testimony from workers… it has been sent to the Fresenius Board of Directors in Germany as well. Stay tuned for updates as they develop.
