A trans-Atlantic movement… 3 unions, 2 countries, 1 fight!

On June 8, 150 hospital support workers — members of the union ver.di — launched a strike against the billion-dollar German-based corporation Fresenius/CFM over low wages and a fair contract. Meanwhile, in New York, with negotiations stalled between Fresenius and NYSNA and 1199 SEIU Healthcare, a June 12 strike is set for six locations throughout metropolitan New York; click HERE for an Informational Flier with details on picketing events and locations.

Bronx and Brooklyn NYSNA Nurses and SEIU caregivers have sent messages of solidarity to Fresenius workers, while ver.di members in Germany, along with NYSNA member Theresa Schloth, RN, returned the favor with photos of signs used in their strike... check them out on the NYSNA Facebook page.

The winds of international solidarity, in an era of globalization… and we witness 3 unions, 2 countries and 1 fight!
