Actress/storyteller Pippa White creates fascinating and surprising drama from the diaries, journals, and letters of Florence Nightingale, Clara Barton, and Dorothea Dix. They were much more than angels of mercy. Her performance puts a face on the accomplishments of three historical nursing figures. Along the way, you will feel and hear the passion for the issues and the struggles each woman encountered.

Objectives:
  • Reflect on the relevance of the careers of Clara Barton, Florence Nightingale and Dorothea Dix to current nursing practice.
  • Examine what led these women to pursue the demanding work of being a nurse.
  • Review the accomplishments of Barton, Dix, and Nightingale.

Results of the election for NYSNA offices will be announced.

  • Identify current nursing issues in New York and beyond.
  • Describe how Voting Body contributes to achieving NYSNA’s goals to promote the nursing profession and protect the public.
