Welcome

With a tradition dating back to 1919, the Capital District Nurses Association is the membership organization of registered professional nurses who live or work in the Capital District area, including Albany, Columbia, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schoharie, Warren and Washington counties.

The Capital District Nurses Association offers members many opportunities to help advance the nursing profession, while assisting in their own personal and professional growth. Participation in the Capital District Nurses Association allows members to network with peers in the Capital Region and New York State, keeping them up-to-date on the latest practices and procedures affecting healthcare and nursing today as well as current issues, concerns, and legislation affecting nursing in the Capital District.

Activities sponsored by District 9 include: Programs offering continuing education credit hours (5-6 per year); Bimonthly dinner meetings; LENS Program, providing outreach services to area senior citizens; lobbying efforts; awards program (awards are given each year for Nursing Excellence in Clinical Practice); Nurse Innovator, a Scholarship program for District 9 members pursuing higher education, as well as undergraduate nursing students; community outreach and service activities.
