For three days, nurses from throughout New York will converge on Saratoga Springs, to immerse themselves in an intellectual party designed to explore diversity, social justice, and the inseparable linkages between these two complex notions. With offerings ranging from the Diversity Enlightenment session to actually being submerged in two days of an abbreviated slice of the Examining Diversity through Film course, the workshop's participants will have an opportunity to not only consider their reality, but the reality of others, within the context of the participants actions towards and in response to others. Participants will leave this experience with a more profound knowledge of not only diversity, social justice, but also the multiple identities we all have but often, unfortunately, don’t consider. Participants will as well come to understand their ongoing roles as both dominants and oppressed, culminating with a invigorating understanding of their potential as agents of change.
