The following NYS healthcare facilities offer various forms of loan forgiveness or scholarships for nurses and nursing students. NYSNA offers information on these opportunities as a service to our members and visitors. For information on specific programs or services, individuals should contact the facilities directly.
Offers up to $5000 for qualified senior level nursing students for their final year's tuition and expenses. Students must provide documentation affirming their status in good academic standing and agree to a two-year contract to work at Peninsula Hospital Center upon graduation. Not applicable to those students whose tuition is paid in full by other sources.
In exchange for a work agreement, St Catherine's offers loan forgiveness in the amount of $2500 per year for 2 years to graduates of an Associate Degree nursing program and for 3 years to graduates of a Bachelors Degree nursing program. For further information contact Sharon Cash at 631.862.3024.
Ellis Hospital, Schenectady, NY
The Ellis Hospital School of Nursing Tuition Assistance for Work Program provides financial assistance to second year nursing students enrolled in the Ellis Hospital School of Nursing. In exchange for 100% tuition assistance for all tuition and related fees for required courses, the student must agree to engage in employment at Ellis Hospital as a registered nurse. Countryside Care Center, Delhi, NY
Countryside Care Center's scholarship program provides
for both RN and LPN programs.
Tuition and books are paid, in return for a two year committment
of full time employment. Each participant must work an agreed on
amount of hours, maintain at least a C average, meet our expectations

Robinson Terrace, Stamford, NY
Offering loan forgiveness programs for RNs. For information

The application approval is based on the hospitals anticipated needs. Students will be required to work one full year at the hospital for each year a loan/scholarship is granted. If the hospital has no career-related position available within 120 days of license or certification, the loan is forgiven.
Additional information: Brooks Memorial Hospital, 529 Central Ave., Dunkirk, NY 14048CVPH offers a scholarship program for non-employees. This program has a designated number of slots per year and repays college loans for up to the last 2 years of college. Tuition and books are paid by the hospital in exchange for a work commitment of one year at CVPH for every semester sponsored.

KCHC offers a fellowship program for students enrolled in the City University of New York nursing programs. Students who are eligible sign a forgivable loan agreement to work at the facility for a designated period of time following graduation. For information contact: Celia Y. St. Elizabeth offers a Nursing Tuition Incentive Program for students enrolled in the nursing curriculum at St. Elizabeth College of Nursing. Qualified individuals can pursue their nursing education to become an RN with financial assistance through a commitment of employment in nursing at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center upon completion of the AAS program.
