At its March 19, 2008 meeting the NYSNA board of directors approved:

ratified referenda approving:
- reappointment of Jessica Zambrano, MS, RN, to the NYSNA-PAC board of trustees;
- appointment of Wendy Budin, PhD, RN, BC, to the Foundation Center for Nursing Research Planning Committee;
- nomination of William Donovan for appointment to the ANA task force on states' roles in electronic health information exchange;
- recommendations to ANA Committee on Bylaws concerning proposed bylaw amendments coming before the 2008 ANA House of Delegates;
- submission of action proposals to 2008 ANA House of Delegates;
eliminated Board Policy 3.5 / Role of the Nominating Committee in nominations for unit executive committee positions.
approved the April 1, 2008 – March 31, 2009 budget.
approved transfer of $100,000 from operations to the investment account.
approved revised position statement on the role of the professional nurse in the Human Immunodeficiency Virus/Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (HIV/AIDS) epidemic.
appointed Judith Kelly, MS, RN, to the Rural Health Committee and Frederick Osborne, MS, APRN-BC, NPP, CARN, to the Peer Assistance Committee.
