Board Action Report
At its May 26, 2010 meeting the NYSNA Board of Directors:
- ratified referenda approving: acceptance of the ANA Reference Committee’s action on NYSNA’s 2010 House of Delegates proposal regarding APRNs signing and certifying for home care plans; Secor Scholarship Committee recommendations; NYSNA-PAC recommended endorsements; appointment to Peer Assistance Committee.
- approved the Committee on Finance’s recommended selection of Loomis Sayles and Company as the high yield bond manager for the association’s investment account.
- approved the Committee on Finance’s recommended expenditure of $200,000 in capital improvements for a technological and environmental update of the board room in the association headquarters.
- approved Committee on Finance’s recommendation to establish an ad hoc board committee to explore, with member involvement, all feasible options for future office space in New York City.
- approved policy on Listserve Use for NYSNA Organizational Unit Communication.
- declared a vacancy on the Continuing Education Peer Review Team in accordance with Board Policy 1.9/Attendance and Participation of Elected and Appointed Members of Organizational Units.
- approved the NYSNA-PAC recommendation for creation of a pilot program to allow for attendance at fundraisers and endorsements for local governmental officials.
- appointed Verlia Brown, MA, RN, C, to fill a vacancy on the NYSNA-PAC board of trustees.
- approved submission to ANA of NYSNA members for consideration of nominations for appointments to commissions and boards established as part of The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, having been signed into law.
- amended Board Policy 3.3/Guidelines for Campaign Conduct.
