| Qualifications Required | Requirements: Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical nursing. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must possess excellent analytical decision-making, problem solving and critical thinking skills. Must be able to prioritize work and meet deadlines. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Ability to work effectively and build relationships with various levels throughout the company. Ability to represent self and MetLife confidently and knowledgeably to external partners both verbally and in writing. Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures, CPT and ICD 9 coding. NICHE is currently seeking two Geriatric Advance Practice Nurses for the following positions: GAPN, Rural E-APN Project A full-time Geriatric Advanced Practice Nurse (GAPN - CNS and/or NP) position with the Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elders (NICHE) program. The GAPN will work from a home office to put into practice the on-line mentoring role essential to a new, innovative, "e-GAPN" model of NICHE implementation. The GAPN will facilitate NICHE implementation in 20 rural or small hospitals in upstate New York and promote a rural-urban collaboration with established NICHE sites in Rochester and Syracuse. Practice Manager A full-time Geriatric Advanced Practice Nurse (CNS and/or NP) will provide education, and clinical and operational consultation to NICHE sites during all stages of NICHE implementation.
