More than 45,000 members of the Communications Workers of America (CWA) and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), who went on strike against Verizon Communications on August 7, have ended the strike and started returning to work August 23. The parties did not reach a new contract agreement, but Verizon has agreed to keep the existing contract in place while negotiations continue.
The New York State Nurses Association is the voice for nursing in the Empire State. With more than 37,000 members, it is the state's largest union and professional association for registered nurses.
