Images/Update: Southside Hospital Informational Picket, 13 June, 2012

The 640 NYSNA RNs at Southside are fighting for quality patient care.

Many of them recently joined a massive informational picket outside the hospital, to call attention to their concerns that the slow pace of bargaining is threatening the stability of the workforce and the high-quality patient care provided by the nurses.

The NYSNA nurses are deeply concerned that management’s demands are going to limit Southside’s ability to retain the great quality nurses the hospital currently employs, and will make it even harder to recruit new nurses in the competitive Long Island area.

The Southside nurses are at the heart of quality care in this award-winning, financially strong hospital, which is part of the prosperous North Shore-LIJ system. Their fight for quality care for their patients and respect for nurses on the job will continue.
