NYC Hospital Alliance and NYSNA Reach Tentative Contract Agreement

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: June 18, 2015

With the assistance of the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, a tentative agreement was reached today between the New York State Nurses Association (NYSNA), the union that represents 37,000 nurses statewide, and the NYC Hospital Alliance, which represents The Mount Sinai Hospital, Mount Sinai St. Luke’s, Mount Sinai Roosevelt, Montefiore Medical Center, and New York-Presbyterian Hospital. The four-year agreement covers approximately 8,500 nurses.

“We are pleased to have reached a tentative agreement. Our nurses are the best in health care and they play an essential role in why these hospitals are nationally recognized for the excellent care they provide,” said Bruce McIver, lead negotiator for the NYC Hospital Alliance.

“Our nurses remain committed to provide the highest quality care possible for all our patients,” said Judy Sheridan-Gonzalez, RN, NYSNA president.

Details of the agreement will be forthcoming.
