A new three-year contract for RNs at St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center in Smithtown will provide the bargaining unit’s 534 RNs with 10% pay increase over the life of the agreement – including base pay plus experience and step movement. The contract, approved Sept. 2, increases tuition reimbursement, and differentials for precepting, certification, education, in-charge, on-call, and evening/night shifts. The number of unused sick days that RNs can cash in at year’s end for achieving perfect attendance was increased from six to eight days. There were no givebacks in this contract, which is retroactive to May 16, 2009 and runs through May 15, 2012.
The four RNs at this small facility in Ticonderoga in Northern New York will receive salary increases of 5% for each of three years. The contract will run through July 31, 2012.
