NEW YORK NURSE: April 2011
“I first became involved with NYSNA as a Legislative District Coordinator, so that I could help work toward passage of a safe staffing ratio bill in New York. Nurses are tired of staffing problems. We need our lawmakers to care about nurses. We need people with power to listen. It’s our job to tell them! And I did just that this past February, when I represented NYSNA at a rally in Albany in support of collective bargaining rights for workers everywhere. Now, through NYSNA’s Leadership Academy, I’m working on a program to encourage more nurses to get involved in the association’s legislative and lobbying activities. Make a difference, today! I’m NYSNA. I’m leading the way.”
