Contract updates

by Mark Genovese

Peconic Bay Medical Center

A new contract for the 300 healthcare professionals at this Riverhead facility will prohibit management from floating employees if the floating would result in a violation of staffing guidelines. Approved July 6, the contract adds several units to the staffing guidelines. The staff will continue to participate in the NYSNA pension plan and there will be no increase in the percentage of their health plan copayments. Employees will receive a 6 percent increase in salary and experience steps over the contract’s three years. On-call pay will increase and a minimum for on-call duration was established.
