Safe Patient Handling and Movement (SPHM): A policy and practice that creates a safe environment for patients and healthcare workers by eliminating hazardous manual lifting tasks. Transferring and repositioning patients is accomplished by using new techniques in mechanical lifts and repositioning devices.
Please note: the 6th Annual Safe Patient Handling Conference is being held concurrently with the Train the Trainer conference, April 23 - 25, 2013 at the Hotel Albany, Albany, NY. Individuals are reminded that they may only register for one of these events, but not both.

Participants can earn up to 8.75 contact hours (CH) for the Safe Patient Handling Conference. The New York State Nurses Association is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
