The NYS Nurses Association announce the postponement of the April 2 strike date
Announcement comes after progress was made in bargaining with the Mount Sinai, Montefiore and NewYork Presbyterian hospital systems

New York, NY – Members of the New York State Nurses Association announce the postponement of the strike date set for April 2, after progress was made in the bargaining at the Mount Sinai, Montefiore, and New York-Presbyterian Hospital Systems.

This breakthrough comes after six months of negotiations.

The potential of a strike is now on hold, pending further negotiations regarding the details of a new contract. Those talks will continue on Wednesday, March 27.

The progress in negotiations includes significant movement in safe staffing as well as the creation of a fund to improve and enforce safe staffing grids by the hiring of additional nurses.

We will release more information next week as the talks continue.
