NYSNA Second Vice President Marva Wade, RN, shares her observations on a recent online video featuring Harry Smith, a  91-year-old war veteran speaking to the Labour Party Conference delegates with a plea to save the National Health Service (NHS) that left attendees in tears. Wade noted, “We congratulate our brothers and sisters across the pond, and stand in solidarity in defense of public health. Your healthcare model is an inspiration to New Yorkers, the United States, and the rest of the world.”

This is why NYSNA supports New York Health, legislation that would create single payer health coverage for ALL New Yorkers. This legislation, along with Safe Staffing efforts will be the focus of NYSNA’s Annual Lobby Day, April 21, in Albany, NY.
