NYSNA RNs held a road trip, “Rolling Over Racism,” on the evening of October 23 outside the offices of Interim Healthcare in Nanuet, NY, to speak out against the company and a racist classified ad it ran in the local Pennysaver.

“We are disgusted and alarmed at the blatantly racist and sexist advertisement that Interim Healthcare approved for publication in the local Rockland County Pennysaver publication, requesting that ‘no Haitian’ nurses apply for an agency home healthcare job,” President Judy Sheridan-Gonzalez, RN, and 1st Vice-President Marva Wade, RN, said jointly in a statement.

NYSNA supports efforts by NYS Attorney General Eric Schneiderman to investigate Interim Healthcare with regard to this disgraceful incident.
