Succesful Rally for Safe Staffing!

Earlier this week, NYSNA members turned out in mass to let our legislators know that we need #safestaffingnow and that they need to #passthebill.

First, we got things kicked off with a raucous rally in the Million Dollar Staircase, where several elected leaders came out and voiced their support for our staffing bill and the newly introduced bill to provide penalty pay for employers who violate the mandatory overtime law.

Next, we went to the Assembly and Senate floors and spoke with several legislators. And it worked!

By the end of the day, we had gained 4 new sponsors to our bill.
