Thousands of Chicago and Tuscon Nurses Go on Strike
NYSNA offers our strongest support and expressions of solidarity for our National Nurses United sisters and brothers on strike today at University of Chicago Medical Center and at Tenet-affiliated, St. Joseph’s and St. Mary’s Hospitals in Tucson, Arizona. The one-day walkout in Arizona, which aims to get management to invest in nursing staff and patient care, is the first-ever registered nurse strike in the state. In Chicago, more than 2,200 nurses walked out as part of an effort to win enforceable staffing ratios that prioritize patient care and fair wages. Nurses will always unite to stand up for safe patient care and strong RN standards!
