Chicago Teachers Union on strike

More than 25,000 Chicago Public Schools teachers and 7,000 support staff went on strike on October 17 as part of efforts to win an enforceable contract that includes a fair compensation and benefits package, and improved working and learning conditions for educators and students.

The walkout comes after nearly a year of pushing the city to bargain in good faith. NYSNA stands with CTU in its fight for smaller class sizes, adequate staffing, livable wages and educational justice. Solidarity forever!
