NURSES TO TESTIFY AT CITY COUNCIL HEALTH HEARING

"Selling patients into for-profit dialysis market is wrong," say RNs.

Will present new information on failures of DOH and record of for-profit dialysis in NYC

 

WHAT: Hearing on Oversight: Examining the Status of "Restructuring HHC: The Road Ahead": What Progress Has Been Made and What Challenges Lie Ahead?

WHEN:  Monday, February 24, 1 pm

WHERE:  Committee Room, City Hall

WHO:  City Council, NYSNA leader Anne Bov é, RN, President, NYSNA HHC Executive Council; Leon Bell, NYSNA Policy Director; and HHC clinical nurses.

Background:

Copies of NYSNA submissions to DOH on privatization and dialysis will be distributed, together with testimonies.  Presentations will provide new information pertaining to the record of Big Apple Dialysis and sister company, Atlantic Dialysis Management, at Broadway Dialysis clinic (located at Elmhurst Hospital) and information from other Big Apple Dialysis facilities in HHC system. We anticipate questions from the Committee.

NYSNA witnesses will be available to press upon conclusion of Committee on Health hearing.
