What is a Nursing Member Leader?
Nursing Member Leaders are working nurses, trained to deeply understand a facility’s contract and the rights of his or her fellow nurses. The Member Leader is trained to successfully organize collective actions, enforce the contract, and represent and counsel nurses facing discipline.
Nursing Member Leaders are essential: they are leaders that represent the union on the job. NYSNA’s goal is to have a Member Leader on every shift and every unit. Hundreds of nurses are currently going through training for this role. A strong network of Nursing Member Leaders will make our union powerful.
Become a Nursing Member Leader!
All members deserve well-informed and confident representation. You will complete the NYSNA training program before you are asked to be the representative in a disciplinary hearing. We offer training sessions throughout the year in multiple locations throughout New York.
