NEW COURSE! New York State Mandatory Prescriber Education Guidance

The use of prescription and non-prescription opioids has dramatically increased in New York State. Healthcare providers who prescribe opioids must understand and demonstrate ongoing knowledge in regard to numerous topics. The New York State Nurses Association is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

The New York State Nurses Association is accredited by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training “IACET” and is authorized to issue the IACET CEU.

In order to receive CHs/CEUs, all participants are required to:

  • Attend the entire workshop
  • Complete all in-session program assignments 
  • Complete an evaluation form
  • Complete and return a post-program Survey Monkey® questionnaire and /or complete and return a post-program checklist, where applicable.

NYSNA Workshops

NYSNA’s Nursing Education and Practice program offers workshops throughout the state for all members, with topics including:

Certification Review Courses

Certification Review Workshops prepare professional registered nurses who are considering taking the ANCC certification examination in their specialty. Courses are FREE for NYSNA Members, who only pay only a $25. materials fee.

Medical Missions and Disaster Relief

During times of widespread disaster, whether natural, industrial, or man-made, nurses are first-line respondents, as they contribute professionally and personally for patients across the world. Disaster nursing and nurses are critical to the success of community and population recovery.

NYSNA is saddened to announce that the 2020 Seminar at Sea, has been cancelled due to complications presented by travel restrictions addressing COVID-19.
