**MEDIA ADVISORY FOR TOMORROW**

REGISTERED NURSES RALLY AT ALBANY MEDICAL CENTER FOR BETTER PATIENT CARE AND FAIR CONTRACT

ALBANY, NY –  Members of the New York State Nurses Association will hold an informational picket at Albany Medical Center to raise concerns about short staffing and patient care as the fight continues for a fair contract and safe staffing provisions. Inadequate staffing is increasing patient wait times and impacting patient care. As upstate New York's only Level 1 Trauma Center with nurses trained for this special facility, AMC nurses are fighting for fair wages and benefits to attract and retain nurses to provide quality care for patients.

Rally follows the start of an ad campaign calling upon Albany Medical Center’s Board of Directors to improve staffing and patient care.

The ongoing contract negotiations come a year after a representation vote in April 2018 where nurses approved by an overwhelming majority to join the New York State Nurses Association.
