NYP-Gracie Square Nurses to Hold Informational Picket Thursday

Nurses are calling for a new contract with safe staffing and protections from violence

New York, N.Y. - New York State Nurses Association (NYSNA) members at NewYork-Presbyterian Gracie Square Hospital will hold an informational picket on Thursday, Oct. 8 from 8-10 a.m. and 12-2 p.m, and will hold a 9 a.m. press conference. The nurses are calling for a fair contract that delivers safe staffing and protections from workplace violence.

Gracie Square is one of New York City’s few hospitals dedicated to psychiatric care. Nurses are being overworked, working understaffed, and getting injured on the job. Since bargaining began, Gracie Square management has asked for givebacks on safe staffing and workplace violence - the very areas where the nurses are calling for investment to increase nurse and patient safety.
