New York Magazine Names Bellevue Caregivers a Top “Reason to Love New York”

Congratulations to Bellevue Hospital nurses and caregivers, who were recognized this month by New York Magazine for our extraordinary efforts in treating Ebola patient Dr. Craig Spencer. Last month, Dr. Spencer left Bellevue Ebola-free after having contracted the disease in West Africa. The magazine lists the work of the hospital’s 119 nurses and other caregivers as a top reason — number 8 — in its annual “Reasons to Love New York.”

As the Ebola crisis hit West Africa, RNs worked closely with the New York City Mayor’s office, as well as state and city Departments of Health to prepare for any potential outbreak. Dr. Spencer’s recovery is a powerful testament to the dedication and preparedness of all nurses and caregivers in the city’s public hospital system.
