NYSNA Nurses Participate in Medical Missions and Disaster Relief
During times of widespread disaster, whether natural, industrial, or man-made, nurses can be first-line respondents as they contribute professionally and personally for patients across the world. Disaster Nursing and nurses are critical to the success of community and population recovery.
NYSNA nurses now have the opportunity to take part in medical missions and disaster recovery. Participating nurses will have the opportunity to take leadership roles in communities in need of disaster relief, engage in disaster response in the field, identify and train community leaders as community health workers, and establish a base of alliances for the purpose of providing continuing humanitarian efforts to the victims of a natural disaster. Join us on NYSNA's medical missions where you can become part of an interdisciplinary team and plan of action to build, sustain, and improve the state’s capability to prepare for, protect against, respond to, recover from, and mitigate disaster related hazards.
