Strength At Work

Patient advocates need a strong voice on the job. That voice is NYSNA. By standing together, we make sure that our patients get the care they deserve, and that we get the pay, benefits, and respect we need to keep giving care. NYSNA RNs have united and won safe staffing ratios, professional pay and benefits, and a voice in patient care decisions.

The New York State Nurses Association is the largest union and professional association for registered nurses. We are 42,000 frontline nurses standing together for strength at work, our practice, safe staffing, and healthcare for all.

NYSNA is an organization of nurses using our collective power to have a real say in our working conditions and patient care.

What to do when faced with unsafe assignments, workplace violence, and management harassment. Real stories from real nurses standing together for strength at work.

NYSNA nurses are working together to win safe staffing, keep hospitals open for care, stop the Wall Street attack on our patients, and win healthcare for all.

Nursing Member Leaders are working nurses, trained to deeply understand a facility’s contract and the rights of his or her fellow nurses. The Nursing Member Leader is trained to successfully organize collective actions, to enforce the contract, and to represent and counsel nurses facing discipline.
