Technology Details
Using the Convention Website
The convention is hosted on a special website, and you must set up a Username and Password in order to participate.
Setting your convention password
You must set your Password by Monday, Oct. 19 at 3:00 PM in order to guarantee your participation.
Only already registered attendees can set up a username and password. Your username will be the e-mail we have on file for you. You will also need to know your NYSNA Member ID.
The password you set must be at least 8 characters long and include an uppercase letter, lowercase letter, a number, and a punctuation mark.
Please note: when you set your password, you will also be asked for your phone number. If you are a delegate and ask to speak at the convention, this is the number that we will call you to connect you to the live broadcast. You must provide a number that you will be able to answer during the convention.
Make sure you can log into the platform
After you set your password, go to https://nysna.onlineevent.com/ and make sure you can log in.
If you are using an iPad, iPhone, or Mac to view the Convention, you may need to change some settings in your browser. You can find instructions for doing that here. See detailed instructions for Apple devices below.
We highly recommend that you plan to attend the Convention using a laptop or tablet.

Attend a demo session
We have two demo sessions where you can try out using the Convention website:
- Sunday, Oct. 18, 6:30 – 7:30 PM
- Monday, Oct. 19, 9:00 - 10:00 AM
To attend a demo, go to https://nysna.onlineevent.com/, log in using your username and password, and click “Live Broadcast.”
Hardware Details
We strongly recommend that you plan to use a laptop or tablet computer, not a phone, to view and participate in the meeting. The following browsers are supported:
Windows

- Apple Safari – version 13.1 or newer
- Internet Explorer – version 11 or newer

Please Note: Cookies are required to log in securely to the Virtual Convention. If you’re using an iOS device, you will need to enable cookies because they are turned off by default.
Tablets
- iPad: Safari

Look for the e-mail with your Convention login credentials. All delegates, alternates, and observers will be mailed a special link on Tuesday, October 13 to claim your unique login credentials. We have scheduled two demos when you can log on to the platform and practice before the convention itself:
- Sunday, Oct. 18 – 6:30 – 7:30 PM
- Monday, Oct. 19 – 9:00 – 10:00 AM
Please Note: You must claim your login credentials by Monday, October 19 at 3:00 PM. Failure to do so could result in a delay in getting the credentials you need to participate in the Convention.
Special instructions for iPhone, iPad, and Mac users
Many browsers on iPhones, iPads, and Macs have special features that prevent the site from loading properly. Please follow these steps.
iPhone and iPad (no matter if you use Safari or Chrome as your browser)
- Go to Settings.
- Click on Safari.
- Privacy & Security.
- Turn the toggle 'Prevent Cross Site Tracking' to 'Off'
- Turn the toggle ‘Block All Cookies' to 'Off'
For MacOS devices when using Safari
- Go the Safari app on your Mac,
- choose Safari > Preferences, then click Privacy Tab.
- Uncheck “Prevent cross-site tracking.”
- Uncheck “Block all cookies”
For MacOS devices when using Chrome
- Open Chrome preferences click on Settings, then Show Advanced Settings
- Under Privacy and security, click on Site Settings
- Then Click on Cookies and site data
4. Make sure “Block third-party cookies and site data” is not checked
