NYSNA Stands in Solidarity with New Zealand RNs

In New Zealand, 30,000 nurses walked off the job in the first nationwide strike in 30 years. After months of negotiations, these RNs are demanding safe staffing conditions as they are overworked, underpaid and believe that patient care is being compromised due to these conditions.

Nurses held rallies throughout major cities and chanted, "be fair to those who care!" We agree!

NYSNA stands with these nurses and applauds their courage. All nurses worldwide share a common commitment to wanting to improve conditions for their patients. We offer our strongest solidarity and hope that they reach a fair contract that protects patients and the profession.
